Publication and Ethical Policy of The Indian Journal of Commerce

The Indian Journal of Commerce since 1964, aspire to select and publish research paper/articles, through highest quality of transparent, and fair peer review. At every step of publication ethical principles have been followed.

The sole objective of Indian Journal of Commerce is Knowledge updation and promoting publication of articles which have social relevance. Further, equity in ethical based publication decision has been ensured to maintain the Journal’s prestige and the trust of readers, scholars, authors, reviewers, editors, research subjects, funding agencies, and administrators. The well define publication guidelines and transparent process is explicitly available for all the participants and public. The journal has a well-defined Publication and Ethics Policy and following are the main features :

  • The website provides complete instructions to authors/reviewers.

  • The journal has a declared frequency of publication each year i.e quarterly. The journal is published regularly and in time following its declared frequency.

  • The Journal levies NO submission/publication charges.

  • Aspire to publish original research paper/articles enhancing knowledge and social relevance through highest quality of transparent, and fair peer review. At every step of publication ethical principles have been followed.

  • Republication of a paper in another language, or simultaneously in multiple journals with different audiences, shall not be acceptable.

  • Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study.

  • The Indian Journal of Commerce strive to maintain highest standard pertaining to plagiarism and publication ethics by stressing upon full and prominent disclosure of original source at the time of submission of the article. The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.

  • Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review, and should be prepared to provide public access to such data. Studies on patients or volunteers require ethics committee approval and informed consent, which should be documented in the paper.

  • The Indian Journal of Commerce strongly discourage and against all minor and major acts related to plagiarism. If found guilty, to any extent, The Indian Journal of Commerce will fight for justice.

  • The UGC guidelines related to plagiarism has been implemented in letter and spirit.

  • The journal has a well-defined peer-review. Subject specific peer reviewers addressed the articles related to their discipline only, and selection of reviewers is always based upon their objectivity and scientific knowledge. Reviews expected to be professional, honest, courteous, prompt, and constructive. Also, reviewers must not share the manuscript with any colleagues without the explicit permission of the editor.

  • The submitted manuscript is a privileged communication and confidentiality during review is strictly maintained. The Indian Journal of Commerce discourage unauthorised retention or copy of any submitted articles.

  • The editorial decisions are precise and transparent. In case of a published paper is subsequently found to have errors or major flaws, the Editor should take responsibility for promptly correcting the written record in the publication.

  • The Budapest Open Access Initiative defined “Open Access” as making it freely available on the public Internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the Internet itself. All published research articles are fully open access: immediately freely available to read, download and share. Articles are published under the terms of a Creative Commons license which permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
